In every season of “The Challenge,” there is always one standout villain — one person that bans everyone together in their combined hatred. Since most contestants are willing to play ugly in order to guarantee themselves a place in the finals — and a chance to win a cut of that coveted $350,000 prize money — the villain usually earns the title from being a feared competitor.
That’s not the case this season, though. The most hated person of “Rivals III” has no chance of being this season’s champion, and on Wednesday’s (June 1) episode, it becomes abundantly clear why this person is disliked so much.
Guess what? For the first time in a long time, the villain is not the evil mastermind that is Johnny Bananas. Nor is it new girl Amanda Garcia who stormed in as a replacement with guns blazing and shooting shade at everyone for no reason whatsoever. It’s not even this season’s resident crazy girl, Ashley Mitchell.
The most hated person in the house is Simone Kelly — a 5 foot nothing, petite spitfire from MTV’s “Are You the One.”

Zap2it got to interview many of the cast during an after show segment in Los Angeles. The unanimous answer across the board when asked the person they disliked the most: Simone.
She is loud, obnoxious, and the ultimate “attention whore” as Bananas aptly describes her. Even though everyone knows hardly anything is “real” about reality TV, it’s abundantly clear that Simone has a reputation of starting drama merely to gain more camera time. She claims to have a crush on Wes, which is just ridiculous. No one could ever have a crush on Wes. Simone is doing exactly what she called out Ashley for in the premiere episode: hooking up with one of the elite male contestants for the sole reason of creating an alliance.
Even her partner Thomas can’t stand to be around her. Always giving her that look of, “Can you just shut up?!” Viewers are thinking the same thing. Her comebacks are weak, her voice is way too loud and she’s still bragging about “ripping her butthole” during last week’s challenge. No one cares, Simone.

This week, she made it out of competing in The Jungle by pure luck, resuming her place back in the house with the fake swagger of someone who earned their way back into the game. The two contestants that went home this week were Johnny Reilly and Jessica McCain. Even as they parted ways to go home, Johnny couldn’t find one nice thing to say to her. His full blown hatred for Jessica and the awkwardness it created as they competed together made for great TV. It’s a shame to see them go.
However, everyone is still stuck with Simone. But the odds are that she will be sent home soon enough. Either she will get into a physical fight powered by her Napoleon complex … or she will pick the wrong skull in The Jungle, and her nonexistent physical prowess will do her in. Hang in there, “Rivals III” fans, we feel your pain.
“The Challenge: Rivals III” airs on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
