The surprises keep coming from San Diego Comic-Con, and on Friday (July 22), Gal Gadot revealed a new sneak peek from the highly anticipated “Wonder Woman” film. It won’t officially hit theaters until 2017, but the hype surrounding the break-out female-centered superhero movie only increases by the day.

In an interview with EW, Gadot says, “We knew we wanted to tell a story that would inspire people: women, men, boys, and girls. And we didn’t want to just show a generic story of a superhero coming of age. We wanted her to be full and whole.” Fueling the “Wonder Woman” fire for fans, Gadot released the official poster for the film. And it looks beyond fierce.

The poster reads: “Power. Grace. Wisdom. Wonder.” Considering this is the first movie to feature Wonder Woman since the character was created 75 years ago, there’s a lot of pressure for this film to knock it out of the park. And Gadot is very much aware. “This is the first time we are telling this story, and I feel like for so many boys, they have great role models to work with. They have Superman and Batman and Spider-man and the list goes on and on. And they are strong and almighty, and they are positive and active and proactive.”

Gadot wants Wonder Woman to be that kind of figure for young women. And based on this poster preview, seeing Gadot in full gear and sword in hand, it seems fans will be able to rest easy knowing that “Wonder Woman” is going to kick some serous butt.

“Wonder Woman” will hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
