The “Supergirl” Season 1 finale airs Monday (April 18) and it has been hinted that at least one character is not going to live to see Season 2.
According to Kevin Smith, who’s well known for writing and directing “The Flash” and who happened to mosey on over the the CBS set while they were filming the final episode, says on a podcast that the finale “is amazing. Something’s happening that will affect Supergirl in such a great way that, you think it’s like cute puppies and fucking kittens now? You are going to cry when you see how beautiful this fucking thing is.”

When asked about the imminent death, executive producer Greg Berlanti is staying mum. “It would be a lot less exciting if I said, ‘No.'” he tells Entertainment Weekly, but Berlanti is known for having pretty epic finales, so Zap2it is wondering: Who will die? Let’s break it down.
Supergirl

Likely-hood of death: Zero. That’s ridiculous.
Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh)

Not likely. They set it up in “Myriad” that either her or Supergirl will have to die, but we’d put good money that someone steps in before either of the Danvers’ sisters has to wave goodbye to the show.

James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks)

Aside from his pending romantic relationship with Supergirl, there’s still so much to learn about his background. To kill him off this early would be a disservice to the entire series. Death odds? Not great.
Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart)

Absolutely, not. She is the greatest thing about this show. An absolute gift.
Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum)

This could be the character to go. Since she’s made peace with both Supergirl and James after their break-up, it could be a bittersweet end for Lucy.
Winn (Jeremy Jordan)

Winn’s death would be a heartbreaker. His unrelenting love for Kara, even though he’s acutely aware that it’s never going to happen, makes him a fan-favorite. Plus Winn’s always the much needed comedic relief during the most intense moments. While his fantastic awkwardness would be missed dearly missed, he’s not so integral to the show that it couldn’t move forward without him.
Martian Manhunter (David Harewood)

This would be the most devastating loss. J’onn J’onzz is such a layered character with so many amazing superhero skills, it would be a shame to lose the shape-shifting green alien with the heart of gold.

Indigo (Laura Vandervoot) and Non (Chris Vance)

With two evil characters trying to take over National City, it would seem logical that at least one of them would die come finale time. While Indigo’s superpower’s make it seem like she would be the one to survive, Non is such an untrustworthy partner-in-crime. He most likely has a secret plan B that sacrifices Indigo in order to save himself if the situation arises.
Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli)

We’re torn. It’s been heavily hinted that Lord will become a love interest for Cat Grant which would be a fun rollercoaster of crazy to watch. Or, because audiences have started to see that he is not an all-around terrible guy, the writers might be priming him for an epic white knight type of death.
