On Tuesday (March 22), Deadline reported that actress Margot Robbie will be playing the eponymous role of former figure skater Tonya Harding in the upcoming biopic, “I, Tonya.”

The script written by Steven Rogers (“Hope Floats,” “Kate & Leopold”) will take audiences back to the early ’90s to follow Harding’s journey from being the first American woman to land a triple axel in competition in 1991, to the 1994 scandal that transpired at the Lillehammer Winter Olympics for which she became famous. For those needing a reminder, the tragic event found Harding’s husband, Jeff Gillooly, along with some hired help, trying to take down Nancy Kerrigan — Harding’s main competition — by breaking her leg.
Zap2it can’t help but wonder which actress will be tapped play the highly coveted role of Kerrigan, the athlete whom after getting beat up, continued on to win the silver medal that year.
