If you are suffering from the post-holiday, back-to-work blues, Sir Patrick Stewart is here to save the day.

In news that makes you go, “Hmmm,” Stuart seems to have turned into a country music star overnight. The British knight and veteran actor, famously known for starring in both the “Star Trek” and “X-Men” franchises, dressed up in full country swag and announced, “Happy 4th ‘Merica, yer a might fine country. Luv Cowboy Pat.”

Umm, what?

Clicking on the link will only further blow your mind. The 75-year-old Shakespearean-trained thespian has recorded a series of country music covers that he playfully titled “P Stew’s Cowboy Classics.”

So, again: WHAT?!

It’s hard to know if this a joke or not, but either way it is ridiculously entertaining. In the music video, the man we’re used to seeing as Professor X sings a sampling of “Don’t Fence Me In” and “Button and Bows,” just to name a few. And apparently this is something Stewart has been working on for quite some time. He’s recorded enough country tunes to make an entire double album compilation.

“Sometimes it takes an Englishman to tell us what’s great about being an American,” the video teaser says via narration, which is such a hilarious statement, it makes one think that this is all just a July 4th hoax. But then there’s an actual website to buy albums at pstewsings.com! Then again, all the records are already conveniently sold out.

This whole thing is probably a joke, but if it’s not, well, it doesn’t really matter. It’s all still so wonderful. Yeehaw, Sir Patrick Stewart! Excuse us, Cowboy Pat!
